About The Role
The work is exciting, fast-paced, and varied. You will be a valued member of project teams that have a mix of internal and client team members, contractors, and specialist development partners, so, you’ll support and advise, both inside and outside of Exa. In a typical week, you may be contributing to proposal generation or project planning, architecting and writing code, collaborating with colleagues through technical review and mentorship, and consulting clients.
As a Senior Embedded Software (Firmware) Engineer, you’ll get to work with modern development tools and technologies such as RTOS, embedded Linux, and IoT/Cloud solutions. You’ll report directly to the Engineering Manager and will have direct engagement with clients, exposure to full product lifecycle development, and close collaboration with other disciplines, giving you the visibility and input you need to get the job done. About You!
You will be successful in this role because you…
- Value communication and collaboration with diverse internal and external teams
- Are skilled in C or C++ and Python
- Have ~7+ years of professional experience developing software for a variety of microcontroller families
- Can lead software quoting, planning, requirements, architecture, design, tests, and review activities
- Have a Bachelor of Engineering in Software or Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related discipline
Even Better If You:
- Have had exposure to the entire product development lifecycle
- Have worked within in a consulting or product development environment
- Are skilled in software architecture and design as it relates to the whole system
- Have experience integrating BLE and Wi-Fi stacks for IoT devices

Hybrid Working Details
- Relocation to Melbourne offered
