About the role
We are currently sourcing for an experienced IT Procurement Manager for a 12 month fixed term contract. This role will work closely with various stakeholders, including Heads of Business Units, Project Managers, IT teams, and suppliers to ensure the procurement framework is efficient from a speed, cost, and risk perspective.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will become a trusted advisor to nominated business units and build strong bonds with their owners. This entails working collaboratively with them to identify opportunities and implement sourcing activities to achieve their savings targets. One of the nominated business units will be New Zealand.
- You will function as the Procurement SPOC to those business units, and the SME on procurement policies & procedures to ensure they operates efficiently and in a compliant manner.
- Given the seniority of the role you are expected to mentor and support other members of the Sourcing Team.
- Negotiate and manage contracts and other legal documents end-to-end.
- Undertake business requirements definition, supply market analysis and commercial risk assessments to inform procurement planning and sourcing decisions
- Develop, co-ordinate and lead sourcing activities to establish supply arrangements that meet business needs
- Plan and lead contract negotiations and review of supply arrangements to deliver value for money procurement outcomes
- Provide sound advice to stakeholders on the formulation of contract clauses, as well as strategies to manage supplier performance and development, improve future contract outcomes and build the overall effectiveness of the procurement function
- Identify, manage, and mitigate procurement risks to enable the organisation to meet its obligations and maximise business opportunity
- Document procurement processes, decisions, and contractual arrangements
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, experience, and qualifications:
- Demonstrated contract negotiation and management capability
- Demonstrated experience in managing categories through the procurement life-cycle – from requirements definition, market analysis, leading sourcing activities to establishing supply arrangements
- 5 to 10 years in Procurement or Supply Chain
- Experience with the New Zealand market beneficial
- Qualifications in Business, Law, Finance, Accounting or Economics preferred
- Procurement experience ideally across both direct and indirect categories
- Advanced procurement Skills, specifically in supplier management
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Strong stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills
- Analytical and curious mindset to challenge existing way of working
