About the role

We are seeking an experienced data scientist that will help us grow our data science and AI practice to deliver cutting edge machine learning and AI solutions for our clients. The successful candidate with have an excellent understanding of data science and machine learning concepts and technologies backed up by real-world experience in delivering machine learning and AI solutions for organisations. Some experience of data engineering and visualisation is beneficial as is experience of machine learning operations. Experience of leading teams and mentoring junior staff is preferred but not essential.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Engagement with clients to understand business requirements
  • Advising clients on data science best practices.
  • Data exploration and analysis
  • Data pipeline development
  • Development and evaluation of machine learning models
  • Advising organisations in machine learning operations (MLOps) and helping them establish MLOps capabilities
  • Mentoring of junior staff
About you:
  • Very strong business engagement and communications skills
  • Excellent understanding of mathematics and statistics relevant to ML and AI
  • Excellent understanding of ML/AI concepts, models and practices – e.g. data analysis, model training/tuning, model evaluation, model deployment
  • Strong knowledge and experience of common types of ML models – e.g. forecasting, linear regression, logistic regression
  • Good experience in development of ML models using Azure or AWS cloud services
  • Excellent coding skills in Python
  • Good knowledge of relational databases and SQL
  • Experience of working with big data technologies – e.g. data lakes, clustered computing (preferred)
  • Experience of developing ML models using Databricks or Apache Spark (preferred)
  • Experience of developing data engineering pipelines (preferred)
  • Experience of establishing MLOps for organisations (preferred)
  • Experience of team leading (preferred)
  • Consulting experience (preferred)
