About the role

The Programme Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the successful planning, execution, and delivery of complex programs within an organization. This role involves coordinating multiple projects, aligning resources, managing stakeholders, and ensuring that program goals and objectives are achieved.

  • Program Planning: Develop and establish program objectives, goals, and strategies in alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Create a comprehensive program plan, including timelines, milestones, deliverables, and resource requirements.
  • Program Execution: Oversee the execution of program activities, ensuring that projects are effectively managed, deadlines are met, and deliverables are of high quality.
  • Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies as needed. Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, clients, team members, and external partners.
  • Communicate program updates, manage expectations, and address concerns or issues proactively.
  • Resource Allocation: Coordinate and allocate resources, including personnel, budget, and equipment, to support program objectives.
  • Optimize resource utilization and ensure that teams have the necessary tools and support to accomplish their tasks.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage program risks and issues. Develop risk mitigation plans and contingency strategies to minimize disruptions and maintain program continuity.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), and reporting mechanisms to monitor program performance. Analyze data and provide regular progress reports to stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of project managers and other staff involved in program delivery.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, promote professional growth, and provide guidance and support to team members. Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency gains, and quality enhancements within the program.
  • Implement best practices and lessons learned from previous projects to drive continuous improvement.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring that financial resources are allocated appropriately and that expenditures are within approved limits. Monitor budget performance and address any deviations.
  • Change Management: Effectively manage program changes, including scope changes, resource reallocation, and timeline adjustments. Evaluate change requests, assess their impact, and implement appropriate change control processes.
