Role Summary:

Date of assignment: Oct 2018 - June 2019 / Pay: AUD 71k to 107K / The primarily function of the Wind Installation Technical Advisor is to assist and advise the installation contractor to ensure mechanical and electrical installation as well as final Inspections are performed in accordance with the installation guidelines. The Wind Installation Technical Advisor is to represent GE in a responsible manner with integrity and by exercising good judgment, both during work hours & off work hours.

Essential Responsibilities:

Adheres to and/or implements Safety Procedures/protocols issued to the site that affect their scope of responsibilities in accordance with the Wind EHS Outage Plan.

• Participates in LOTO process as required/directed

• Adheres to Quality processes

• Responsible for reporting issues which affect safety and schedule via the latest online GE communication tool for corrective action

• Ensures follow-up corrective actions are implemented on all issues in accordance with communicated directive.

• Ensure contents of Job Site Books are complete and 100% accurate

• Provide information for E-DSR where required as defined by communication Guideline

• Responsible for maintaining assigned vehicle in a responsible manner

• Depending on contract requirements the following additional Electrical-Mechanical responsibilities may apply to this position (TA)

• Installation of wind turbines in Europe and Asia

• Execution of assigned Retrofits per the RFR process.

• The Installation TA is responsible for all her/his activity and assigned tooling on site

• Manage time and assigned resources responsibly to ensure successful completion of the site goals and objectives.

Qualifications/Requirements:

The successful candidate will be fluent in English with effective written and oral communication skills, possess strong presentation and negotiation skills and be able to manage multiple complex issues concurrently.

The ideal candidate will be flexible with a can-do attitude and willing and able to work with several high paced individuals. Attention to detail and to comply with corporate compliance requirements is necessary.

Required

• Fluent in English

• At least 5 years’ experience with installation and mechanical completion of wind turbine generators.

• Experienced in installation of GE Wind Turbine Generators of 3.X series

• Completed GE Wind Training

Desired Characteristics:

• Electrical qualified

• Experienced in installation of Wind Turbine Generators of megawatt capacity

• Completed GE Wind Training

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION

GE delivers wind farm projects in conjunction with a civil construction company who control site activities for civil works, substation construction and wind turbine installation. The GE team on site are responsible for supervision of wind turbine component handling, quality control of installation works including document quality control and works to commission wind turbines.

Due to international business contacts, attendance at out of hours teleconferences may be required. Infrequent travel within Australia may be required for short periods of time.

Position locations:

1. Bodangora Wind Farm, near Wellington in central New South Wales (NSW), Australia

2. Crookwell – located at customer’s office, Crookwell 2 Wind Farm (adjacent Crookwell Wind Farm, about 14km SE of Crookwell, about 30km NW of Goulburn and 175km SE of Sydney and in the shire of Upper Lachlan)

3. Willogoleche – located at customer’s office, Willogoleche Wind Farm EPC, on Willogoleche Hill, about 160 kilometres north of Adelaide and about 5km from the town of Hallett..

4. Silverton - approximately 25km from Broken Hill in New South Wales (NSW), Australia
