About the Role
We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Industrial Painter & Blaster to join our team on a full-time basis at our Rockhampton, QLD site. In this role, you will carry out sandblasting, surface preparation, and industrial painting using 2K paint systems, ensuring all work meets quality standards and customer specifications. You will also maintain equipment, follow safe work practices, and ensure all coatings are applied in accordance with company procedures and workplace safety requirements.
This role will report to Site Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
Follow paint specifications and documentation accurately
Apply paint and other protective coatings to surfaces using both conventional and airless application methods, ensuring consistent coverage and quality finishes.Inspect surfaces to be treated.
Prepare and mix paints and other substances for application.
Mix and colour-match paints to meet job specifications.
Perform touch-ups and blend any defective areas of coated items.
Provide QA records for painting & blasting completed – blast profile, paint DFT etc
Collaborate with other tradespeople to meet deadlines
About You
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Minimum of 2 years industrial spray painting & blasting experience
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic geometry.
Prioritises and plans work effectively, manages time efficiently, and develops realistic action plans to achieve objectives. Organises and coordinates tasks, identifies resource requirements, and ensures work is completed in line with priorities and deadlines.
Ability to work under own initiative.
Proactive and flexible approach to work.
Works with integrity and ethically.
Reacts well under pressure and within tight timeframes.
Puntual & physicaly fit
Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail when applying decals as required, ensuring accurate placement and quality presentation.
Interested in improving process through LEAN principles and collaborative teamwork
Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experiences:
Current forklift license
Good communication skills
Ability to work unsupervised
Ability to read engineering drawings
Applicants must be eligible to work permanently in Australia
Rigging, dogging and overhead crane qualifications (in addition to forklift)
