About the Role
We are seeking a Warehouse Officer for a full-time, maximum-term 12-month contract based in Forrestfield, Western Australia. This role is required to provide support for the effective operation of Gemco Rail's warehousing activities and reporting requirements.
This role will report to Supply Chain Supervisor WA and collaborates closely with stores team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure security of goods and warehouse facilities.
- Prepare documentation and goods for despatch from site.
- Operate forklift to facilitate loading and unloading of freight, standard palletised & ugly freight.
- Support internal customers by picking stock and recording material movements.
- Identify and act upon opportunities to improve material availability and service to customers through improved stock levels, data inaccuracies and better processes.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Key Responsibilities:
- Understanding of warehouse and logistics processes
Transactional computer literacy in ERP systems( preferably SAP.
Able to reconcile inventory.
Strong customer focus and ability to work with peers and site colleagues to provide a reliable and efficient service
A strong attention to detail
A strong willingness to learn and contribute to the overall processes
Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experiences:
- 3+ years' experience in warehouse and logistics operations
- Previous rail experience
