Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience conducting investigations in a private sector/public sector environment.
- 5 years of experience conducting investigative interviews.
Preferred qualifications:
- Investigative Interviewing Certification from a national or internationally recognized organization such as Wicklander Zulawski.
- Formal investigative training or certifications.
- 5 years of experience conducting investigations leveraging digital forensic and physical security data as evidence, related to intellectual property protection (e.g., leaks, data theft etc.), and related to insider threats and fraudulent practices.
- Ability to self assess and critique own performance with a perspective of continuous professional development.
- Ability to leverage data to further investigations.
- Ability to speak and write in more than one language fluently.
About the job
As an Investigator on the Global Investigations team, you will partner with internal teams to keep Google safe. You will conduct investigations of a broad range of issues from policy breaches and leaks of company information through to fraud and organized criminal activity. You will deliver holistic outcomes which will include objective, evidence based findings and recommendations to prevent, detect, deter and disrupt future issues.
From keeping Googlers safe and secure to managing disruptive events, the ability to anticipate, deter, detect, and act are the pillars of Google’s Global Security and Resilience Services (GSRS) team. As a member of GSRS you will help develop a culture where safety, security and resiliency are integrated into every facet of Google, including the creative process. You will help us continually identify, evaluate and monitor enterprise risks that could affect business activities and provide business leaders the information they need to make critical decisions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative strategies and develop programs that drive sustainable effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Conduct fair and impartial investigations of possible violations of Google's Physical and Information Security policies, Code of Conduct and other business conditions.
- Conduct investigative interviews regarding a broad range of persons on a diverse range of issues and prepare appropriate reports for management summarizing the findings.
- Conduct reviews and other research to identify process deficiencies which could allow inappropriate business conduct, and recommend protocols and policies to address those weaknesses.
- Build excellent relationships with internal stakeholders and raise awareness of the Global Investigations team and its function to become a trusted advisor to the business.
- Examine current team practices and where appropriate propose new or alternative methods.
