With more than 70 years of business and technical expertise in mining, energy, and infrastructure, our 10,000 colleagues in 150 countries tirelessly work toward bettering the industries in which we operate. Are you looking for an opportunity to join a diverse group of professionals who are committed to remaining exceptional? We look forward to hearing from you.

We are seeking a motivated Water Resources Engineer to join our Civil/Hydrotechnical team in Brisbane, supporting a strong pipeline of mining, energy, and infrastructure projects. This is an opportunity to work across diverse water-related challenges including flood modelling, water management, and hydraulic design. In this role, you’ll contribute to technical delivery while also supporting proposals, mentoring junior team members, and engaging with clients. You’ll be exposed to a broad range of hydrotechnical services and play a key role in delivering high-quality, practical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake hydrological modelling and assessments
  • Deliver flood modelling and flood impact assessments
  • Prepare and review technical reports and documentation
  • Contribute to and review project proposals
  • Provide input into engineering design, operations, and cost estimates
  • Mentor and support junior engineers
  • Support hydraulic analysis and design of water infrastructure (e.g. levees, culverts, spillways)
  • Contribute to broader water management services including drainage and climate impact assessments

About You:
You hold a degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering and bring around 5+ years of relevant experience in water resources, ideally with client-facing exposure. You have strong technical capability across hydrology and hydraulic modelling tools such as TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, RORB or similar, with working knowledge of GIS platforms (e.g. QGIS). Experience across areas such as water balance modelling, stormwater management, or hydraulic design will be highly regarded. You are a confident communicator with strong report writing skills, able to manage competing priorities while maintaining quality outcomes. RPEQ or CPEng is advantageous. You are collaborative, adaptable, and motivated to continue growing your technical and leadership capabilities.

Why join us?

  • Work with great people to make a difference
  • Collaborate on exciting projects to develop innovative solutions
  • Top employer
