Join a company that is passionately committed to the pursuit of a better world through positive change. With more than 70 years of business and technical expertise in mining, energy, and infrastructure, our 10,000 colleagues in 150 countries tirelessly work toward bettering the industries in which we operate. With practical solutions that are safe, innovative and sustainable, we think globally while acting locally.

Our Project Delivery Group (PDG) is a dynamic team of professionals passionately committed to world-class project delivery across the globe. With expertise in sustainable studies, asset building and operations, and industry-leading efficiencies, our best-in-class team leverages methodologies, governance and systems that are unparalleled in the engineering space. Are you looking for an opportunity to join a diverse group of professionals who are committed to remaining exceptional? We look forward to hearing from you.

Our Geotechnical team is at the forefront of innovation - bringing together expertise in site planning, spatial information and digital terrain modelling, subsurface investigations, rock mechanics, underground structures, hydrotechnical analysis, flood forecasting, and water resource management. From concept to construction, we deliver cutting‑edge geotechnical, hydrotechnical, and civil site development solutions that power some of the most exciting projects across the globe.

As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a vital role in a dynamic engineering team, contributing to multidisciplinary projects from early planning to detailed design and on‑site investigation. Your work will span advanced numerical modelling, analysis, and technical problem‑solving, helping to deliver high‑impact projects in the Infrastructure, Mining, and Energy sectors.

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Perform conceptual and detailed engineering design
  • Undertake both office‑based and field geotechnical engineering activities
  • Provide specialist geotechnical advice and advanced analytical services
  • Prepare engineering calculations and technical specifications
  • Develop and contribute to technical memos and reports within your expertise
  • Support engineering, operating, and capital cost estimate development
  • Stamp documents and drawings where required (and where registration allows)
  • Conduct construction supervision and management as project needs arise
  • Partner closely with site engineering teams to deliver timely technical solutions
  • Embed safety‑in‑design and integrity principles across all design documentation

You bring to the role:

You hold a recognised degree in civil engineering from an accredited university and maintain professional engineering registration. With over five years of experience in geotechnical design, you’ve developed a strong foundation in soil mechanics, field investigations, and the design and rehabilitation of water control structures. You are skilled in civil instrumentation and in performing stability and seepage analyses for channel slopes, riverbanks, dams, dikes, and natural slopes. Your background includes working effectively within multidisciplinary project environments, supported by a solid understanding of design codes and technical standards. You communicate clearly, collaborate well, plan and organise effectively, and thrive working independently when needed. Above all, you bring strong safety awareness and a commitment to delivering high‑quality engineering outcomes.

Why join us?

  • Work with great people to make a difference
  • Collaborate on exciting projects to develop innovative solutions
  • Top employer
