Are you looking for an opportunity to join a diverse group of professionals who are committed to remaining exceptional? We look forward to hearing from you.

We are seeking an experienced Structural Designer / Draftsperson to support the delivery of civil and structural design across major multidisciplinary projects. This role is suited to a motivated designer with strong modelling and drafting capabilities who enjoys working in a collaborative engineering environment. You will be responsible for developing high-quality 3D models and 2D drawings while supporting engineering teams through the various stages of project delivery. The Structural Designer contributes to the production and coordination of civil and structural design deliverables across mining, industrial, and infrastructure projects. Working closely with engineers and senior designers, you will help ensure quality, coordination, constructability, and compliance throughout project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and coordinate civil and structural 3D models and 2D drawings using Bentley design platforms including MicroStation and OpenBuildings.
  • Prepare conceptual layouts, detailed designs, and construction documentation under the guidance of engineers and senior designers.
  • Support drawing and model reviews to ensure quality and compliance prior to issue.
  • Coordinate with engineers and designers from various disciplines, including process, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and civil teams.
  • Participate in clash detection activities, model reviews, and interdisciplinary design coordination meetings.
  • Assist with constructability, safety-in-design, and design review processes.
  • Work collaboratively with local and international project teams to deliver consistent and high-quality design outputs.
  • Conduct site visits and assist with the verification of existing facility dimensions and conditions when required.
  • Ensure design deliverables comply with relevant Australian Standards, client specifications, and project requirements.
  • Maintain project documentation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the design team.

About You

You will hold a qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering, Drafting, Design Technology, or have equivalent industry experience delivering civil and structural design for multidisciplinary projects within the mining, industrial, or infrastructure sectors. You will demonstrate:

  • Proficiency in Bentley software, including MicroStation, OpenBuildings, and associated structural design and modelling tools.
  • Experience in structural design and drafting within engineering consulting, EPCM, mining, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience contributing to project phases including studies, detailed design, and construction support.
  • Working knowledge of structural steel, concrete, foundations, and industrial infrastructure.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary project environments and coordinating with other engineering disciplines.
  • A sound understanding of Australian Standards, industry codes, and drafting best practices.
  • Strong 3D modelling and drawing production skills, with a focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to engage effectively with engineers, designers, and project stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous learning.
  • A commitment to safety, quality, and professional development.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of mining, industrial, and infrastructure projects while developing your technical skills within a collaborative and experienced multidisciplinary team.
