Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking a Senior SMP Field Engineer to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) in a Project based opportunity. This role is Drive In, Drive Out on a 14 day on 7 day off Roster

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Apply your technical knowledge and experience towards ensuring that construction work complies with the relevant statutory requirements, project design specifications, codes and standards
  • Maintain a strong health and safety focus within the field engineering team
  • Develop and maintain a collaborative relationship with the Client’s construction management team
  • Manage and resolve cross-discipline clashes or conflicts when discovered in engineering deliverables (drawings and specifications)
  • As applicable, assist with constructability input and construction sequencing
  • Provide technical assistance to QA/QC including review and approval of QA test reports and documentation where required
  • Manage and where possible respond to field information requests and site design change requests (TQ/RFI, ECN, SI) through clear written/oral communication
  • Review contractor supplied deliverables including as-built documentation
  • Coordinate third party inspections in conjunction with consultants and other authorities
  • Generate and/or check field sketches or red-line engineering deliverables
  • Manage, control and maintain onsite piping drawings, files and registers

You will bring to the role.

  • BSc/B.Eng. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Field engineering experience
  • Experience working on large or complex projects in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Experience in working with and managing diverse, multicultural teams that are located in different parts of the world
  • Excellent attitude towards safety and a demonstrated ability to comply (and oversee others to comply) with Hatch, Client and/or legal safety regulations
  • Appropriate physical condition to suit the demands of the job.
