Why this is an exciting opportunity

We’re looking for a hands-on DevOps Engineer to help build, support and continuously improve our cloud platforms, infrastructure and software delivery capabilities.

Working across AWS and GCP environments, you’ll use Infrastructure as Code, automation and modern CI/CD practices to create secure, scalable and reliable solutions. You’ll also help strengthen our observability, container platforms, incident response and operational practices.

You’ll collaborate with Platform, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Product and Test teams, giving you the opportunity to influence how technology is delivered across the organisation. This role is well suited to an engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, improving developer experience and turning repetitive processes into reliable automation

What you’ll be doing

  • Implement and support scalable cloud solutions across AWS and GCP, aligned with established architecture and engineering standards.
  • Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform, CloudFormation or equivalent Infrastructure as Code technologies.
  • Develop reusable infrastructure modules, templates and technical documentation.
  • Support cloud networking, identity and access management, platform security and governance.
  • Build, maintain and optimise CI/CD pipelines in partnership with Software Engineering, Test and Platform teams.
  • Automate software build, testing, deployment and release processes.
  • Apply engineering standards, controls and quality gates, while contributing to their continuous improvement.
  • Improve DevOps practices, developer experience and self-service capabilities.
  • Implement and support monitoring, logging, tracing and alerting solutions.
  • Contribute to reliability engineering practices, including service indicators, service objectives, error budgets, resilience testing and capacity planning.
  • Support containerised workloads and administer Docker and Kubernetes environments.
  • Participate in production incident response, root-cause analysis and service improvement activities.
  • Support vulnerability management, patching, secrets management and compliance obligations.
  • Work with Cyber Security teams to embed secure-by-design principles.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and collaborate with senior engineers and other teams to resolve complex problems.
  • Contribute practical insights to architecture decisions, technology roadmaps and platform improvements.
  • Participate in peer reviews, knowledge sharing and team learning activities.
  • Identify and implement improvements to automation, reliability, security and delivery processes.
