The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Distribution, the Distribution Centre Manager role will be responsible in leading the safe and efficient day-to-day operations of the Distribution Centre, driving performance across service, cost, quality, and people outcomes to meet business needs, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements.

A core focus of the role is achieving Zero Harm, driving continuous improvement, and embedding best practice warehouse, logistics, and transportation operations.

What you’ll do
  • Lead and embed a Zero Harm culture, ensuring Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), Chain of Responsibility (CoR), and safety compliance across all operations while partnering with EHS to drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead daily warehouse and distribution operations, ensuring safe and efficient coordination of customer pickups, inbound and outbound transfers, and direct-to-customer deliveries.
  • Deliver key operational outcomes including DIFOT (Delivered In Full On Time), productivity, cost control, inventory accuracy, and service performance.
  • Coach, develop and lead a high-performing warehouse team while driving capability and ensuring effective use of SAP WMS.
  • Deliver strong operational outcomes across safety, productivity, cost, DIFOT, and inventory performance.
  • Plan and manage daily transport and loading operations, manage carriers, and ensure CoR compliance while delivering safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery to customers.
  • Oversee quality, compliance, and inventory control by monitoring performance metrics, ensuring accurate stock management (including stocktakes), and maintaining adherence to regulatory and internal standards.
  • Work closely with the Head of Operations and key stakeholders to develop and deliver the annual Operating Plan (OGSM), values, KPIs, and metrics.
  • Drive best practice standards across distribution centre operations and lead improvement initiatives and projects.
What you’ll bring
  • Minimum 10 years in a distribution, warehouse and logistics leadership role
  • Degree qualified with a major in supply chain management or related field preferred
  • Experience in direct supervision and management of freight and transport companies
  • Hands on approach to developing and mentoring the warehouse teams to drive operational improvements through staff development
  • Very strong analytical skillsets including ability to analyse and interpret data and make judgement calls accordingly
  • Strong people management skills with proven success in shaping team culture and measuring impact through engagement and performance outcomes
  • Has worked in a 12hr to 24hr operations
  • Advanced competency in Microsoft Office and experience working with systems such as SAP Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Transport Management System (TMS)
  • Forklift licence preferred, or a solid understanding of forklift operations and safety requirements.
