The Opportunity
Reporting to the EHS Manager, this role is responsible for partnering and providing broad support to the Carole Park Team on EHS matters. As an EHS Business Partner, you will be responsible for the implementation of EHS processes, corrective actions, incident investigations and be a part of key projects in the EHS space.
You are an early riser, happy to start work early at 5:30AM.
What you’ll do
- Advise and support the plant facility to ensure that we comply with legislation and purse best practice
- Communicate, engage, support stakeholder groups to increase activity and connections to all aspects of EHS
- Partner and support Carole Park stakeholders to effectively manage and deliver projects
- Contribute to the tools, processes and other mechanisms for the business area to ensure effective implementation and proper governance of the APAC EHS strategy
- Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations and part take in audit preparation
- Provide RTW and Injury Management support to the site
- Support on-site environmental compliance activities
- Work in alignment with the James Hardie Zero Harm pledge and workplace health and safety requirements
- Report any incidents, hazards, near misses or “at-risk” behaviours
- Take ownership through participating in health and safety initiatives/activities and training
- Acting as a safety leader at all times and ensuring yourself and others perform their work safely
- Responding to any hazard or incident that is raised with you and providing or seeking the support required to respond to the identified workplace issue
- Support LEAN manufacturing initiatives
- Plan and manage EHS training initiatives on site
- Minimum 3-4 years practical experience in EHS, preferably in operations or manufacturing environment
- Bachelor’s degree with a major in Workplace Health & Safety (preferred)
- Knowledge of EHS legislation
- Strong understanding of EHS Management Systems, technology and tools
- Experience developing and designing environment, EHS programs across a range of functional areas
- Experience leading change and projects in a manufacturing environment
- Stakeholder management ability, strong influencing skills across all levels of the organisation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
