The Opportunity
The Freight Officer will be responsible to streamline and take the distribution operations to the next level by providing services to Freight, Distribution and Supply Chain to enhance James Hardie’s competitive position in the market.
You will work cross-functionally with different teams such as Customer Service, Procurement, Distribution and external freight providers to meet service expectations and operational requirements.
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 7AM to 3PM
What you’ll do
- Assisting the Freight Office with deliveries of products to customers and between sites. This includes regular interaction with customer service, supply chain, distribution and freight providers to ensure we are servicing our customer’s delivery expectations.
- Assisting Procurement Team with the ordering and receipt of accessories and ensuring stocks are maintained at expected levels.
- Comply with all WHS, chain of responsibility (CoR), and site safety requirements.
- Atleast 2 years of experience in warehousing, distribution, logistics, administration or customer service environments
- Working knowledge of freight, distribution or supply chain operations within an operational environment.
- Knowledge and experience of SAP or any other ERP or database system
- Intermediate computer skills and Excel skills
- Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements, including safe manual handling and chain of responsibility (CoR) obligations.
- Excellent relationship building and stakeholder management skills
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Good planning, organisation and time management skills
- Autonomous and driven – determined to succeed in an ever-changing environment
- Bachelor degree in Transport Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or a related discipline will be considered favorably
