What you'll do
You'll provide targeted support to operational sites in support of the successful delivery, implementation and embedding of Kmart's workplace health and, safety and plans. To achieve this, you'll perform risk management activities on sites to uplift safety performance and capability as well as proactively identify how health and safety, can be improved and act to translate these improvements into operational plans.
In addition to ensuring our safety obligations are met and risks are mitigated you will also:
- Consult, collaborate with and coach internal and external stakeholders around health & safety compliance and capability and risk management.
- Identify risk factors for poor injury and RTW outcomes.
- Provide support with incident and injury investigation and management
- Conduct site visits/inspections and risk assessments in order to provide operations with quality recommendations to resolve identified issues
- Work cross-functionally to review trends, facilitate continuous improvement and foster a learning culture where safety is always the priority.
We Flex Where, Flex When and Flex Well at the Kmart Group so we don't mind where you work to get the administration component of your role done. However, it is expected that this role will spend 80% of the time off-site providing local operational support.
Experience & skills you'll bring
We'd expect you to hold a formal Health & Wellbeing qualification / certification, or Diploma in a relevant field backed by knowledge of contemporary Health & Wellbeing thinking and practices, bonus points for those who have implemented relevant strategies. You'll be a strong communicator with the ability to tailor your communication to the audience and you'll seek to create opportunities for others to be heard. You'll be able to identify opportunities to work collaboratively with other teams to solve issues and develop better ways of working.
Additionally, you will possess:
- General knowledge and understanding of WHS legislation
- Ability to priorities in a dynamic and results orientated environment
- Emotional intelligence and a high degree of integrity
- Exceptional interpersonal communication, planning, and time management skills
- Full & valid New Zealand driver's license

It was formed as the Department Stores Division in February 2016 and rebranded to the Kmart Group in November 2018.
