About the role
Reporting into the General Manager Planning & Inventory, the Head of Merchandise Reporting, Data and Platforms is responsible for driving digital enhancements across merchandise reporting and process.
As the Process and Product owner of our current merchandise systems, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our systems to improve our data to make better decisions for the business.
Your leadership skills will be crucial as you collaborate across merchandise and technology, mentor your team, and foster strong relationships, all while sharing your specialised knowledge of our planning systems and processes.

Key responsibilities are (but not limited to):
- Operating as the senior custodian of our Merchandise Platforms, with performance, security and data integrity at the forefront of all decisions
- Establish future proofing plans for Platforms so that new initiatives will cater to new and unanticipated use cases without significant work on the underlying platform.
- Identify and implement new product data governance and quality processes and standards.
- Establish the necessary governance forums with stakeholders to define and execute the Merchandise Platform technology roadmap and against the IT strategic plan.
- Lead Merchandise Platform Product Owners through initiative delivery and day-to-day management activities and acting as Scrum Master as appropriate.
- Manage the Merchandise Data Support team based in Mulgrave.
To be successful in this role:
Our ideal candidate for this role is a driven and analytical leader who has a real strength and understanding of Merchandise and how it works. You will also bring strong and specialised knowledge within Merchandise Data Platforms as well as our Planning and Ranging tools, systems and processes.
You will also bring strong stakeholder management experience with the ability to influence and drive strategic initiatives across the business.
We’d also love you to have:
- Significant Retail industry knowledge
- Solid understanding of merchandise data strategy and associated reporting essential
- A strategic and analytical mindset, with the ability to use data to develop insights and opportunities.
- Exceptional project management and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience within a Senior Merchandise Manager role is preferred.
- Multi-store retail management experience incorporating retail operations, buying, planning and financial management is highly regarded.
