About the role

We are currently seeking Scientist to join our Scientific & Technical Services team (S&TS) team at Melbourne Processing Centre. As an S&TS Scientist you will provide scientific services, support and problem solving to the regional manufacturing team to enable the delivery of production and work outcomes.

The role functions across a number of Lifeblood’s operational divisions, working with both internal and external customers, with a primary focus on supporting the Manufacturing & Logistics teams. It delivers scientific expertise, problem solving, technical know-how, and a high level of customer service, to ensure operational goals are met.

You will also provide advice and scientific knowledge to investigate and manage test anomalies, equipment faults and deviations which may fall outside of routine operation procedures. The S&TS Scientist role may also be required to support the implementation of both local and national projects, providing a link between project teams and regional production teams.

Sound interesting? Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science or a related discipline, or registration with the Australian Institute of Medical and Clinical Scientists (AIMS) for internationally qualified applicants
  • Experience with lean manufacturing processes
  • Experience with operations in a regulated production environment adhering to the principles of GMP and GLP and NPAAC guidelines.
  • Demonstrated commitment to deliver outcomes to required standards
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with a collaborative working style
  • A strong customer focus with the ability to identify improvement initiatives
  • An outstanding team player who supports the achievement of shared goals
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management and problem-solving skills

The is a Fixed-term full-time opportunity until 21/05/2027. S&TS department at Melbourne currently operates Monday – Friday and there will be a requirement to satisfy a work roster that covers the hours of 6AM – 6PM.
