Discover life-giving possibilities

Lifeblood is more than just a job or a career, it’s an opportunity to be part of something that matters. As an organisation, our purpose is simple: life giving donations, for life changing outcomes. Together, we want to help you build a fulfilling career with Lifeblood.

About the role

We are looking for Production Supervisors at Sydney Processing Centre to supervise & oversee the Processing team within the facility. This is an opportunity to work in a unique GMP production environment where hundreds of blood donations are received and processed each day into many life saving products for the Australian and International community.

You will ensure the required Production outcomes are being met through the effective delivery of the Production Schedule and effective management of resources and workflow within the Production environment. Ultimately this will lead to the efficient and timely supply of blood and blood products within a culture of service excellence.

As a Production Supervisor you will continually look for ways to optimise work processes through active learning and adapting your approach to achieve great outcomes while working collaboratively with other team members.

Working with other supervisors you will lead a huge team responsible for processing all blood donations for NSW and ACT. You will convert these donations into 25+ different blood derived products for delivery to the Australian Healthcare network. The role will require you to ensure consistent, safe and high quality products are produced.

A day in the role will see you:

  • Lead and develop a large skilled team in a unique production environment providing blood products for Australian healthcare providers and patients
  • Developing & managing rosters and shifts and direct team members to react to manufacturing requirements
  • Co-ordinate with upstream and downstream departments
  • Identify new talent for the Production team & support in training and staff development
  • Utilise reports and forecasts to manage manufacturing targets and plans
  • Champion and lead continuous improvement items
  • Directly engage in blood processing activities

Sound interesting? Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Production/processing experience in a technical or pharmaceutical manufacturing regulated GMP/GLP environment
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise a Production team, with previous supervision experience desirable
  • A current understanding of using standard operating procedures to perform a range of technical processes
  • Ability to work collaboratively for planning & effective management of a team and deliver on KPI’s
  • Ability to collaborate fluidly with peers and cross-functional groups
  • Excellent written, oral communication, and organizational skills required

Reporting to the Production Manager you will be based in the Processing department at Sydney Processing Centre, Monday – Sunday across a range of hours between 5:45am to 1:00AM . There will be some on-call requirements and the need to work across some public holidays.

Benefits and Wellbeing

We place our employee's well-being at the forefront and express gratitude and care for one another. As an Australian Workplace Equality Index recognised employer and one of Australia’s menopause-friendly organisations, we celebrate diversity and support all our people.

In addition to being a part of an organisation that is the heartbeat of the nation, you will have access to the following:

  • Ability to purchase additional annual leave
  • Access to salary packaging with an option to package up to $15,900 for living expenses and $2,650 for meals and entertainment
  • 14 weeks paid parental leave for either parent
  • Our dedicated employee assistance program - Sonder that you can access 24/7 from an app on your phone
  • Plus, many more!
