We have a rare opportunity for a 3 to 5 year PQE lawyer to join the Legal team at Lion on a 12 month contract basis. The position will be based in our Sydney CBD office, with flexible working arrangements available.
You’ll join our award-winning Legal team (In-House Team of the Year, Australian Law Awards 2021), to partner with our Marketing team in relation to brand campaigns, product and marketing claims, packaging compliance, intellectual property matters, and key sponsorship agreements.
We’re seeking a confident people person with a current Australian practicing certificate and a strong understanding of advertising and consumer laws. You’ll also have a good understanding of commercial and contractual legal issues, and previous experience dealing with similar matters in a law firm or in-house.
Your key accountabilities will include:
- Providing legal and commercial advice in support of our brands on marketing and consumer law issues, and support on related projects.
- Partnering with Lion’s brand and sales sponsorship teams to draft and negotiate partnership agreements, and provide strategic advice on structure, rights and disputes.
- Continuing to build Lion’s marketing law capability and related governance & compliance framework.
- Providing legal and commercial advice on AU trademark matters including conducting clearance searches, risks of use, prospects of registrability, and oppositions.
This is a position where you can utilise your strategic agility and strong commercial acumen to work closely with our brands and business leaders to make a real difference and drive positive outcomes.
