The Associate role in the Infrastructure team is a position in a deal execution function, assisting in the origination and execution of Infrastructure & Project Finance (‘I&PF’) transactions to support Lloyds Banking Group’s (LBG) core client base.Job Description
Primary responsibility includes supporting in executing complex structured project finance deals in all sectors (mainly economic infrastructure – port, airport; concession/social infrastructure – hospital, road; and energy – renewables, pipelines) for the Bank's core corporate relationships (specifically support in negotiation of transactions, credit and investment committee applications (including EPC), execution of documents, financial close, handover to CAM). The Associate also has a key role in assisting the team’s Associate Directors and Directors in the origination of new transactions. The role requires a strong engagement with clients (LC clients, Financial Sponsors, Advisors, lending community).
Provide multi-product specialist support and co-ordination across Loan Financing ensuring customer needs are met. Focus on delivery of tasks identified by Senior team members to support delivery of business activity, helping to establish Loan Financing as a multi-product and service provider to Commercial Banking clients.
Responsibilities
- Support Origination of I&PF transactions that support the core LBG corporate franchise
- Ability to excel in execution of deals ensuring alignment with product partners
- Interaction with Product Partners, Coverage, Credit, Client Asset Management, Legal, and Scottish Widows to ensure the strategy and business development activity carried out within the Infrastructure business is appropriately aligned
- Research future opportunities
- Establish relationships with clients and the Advisor community to enhance the division and LBG’s reputation and propose procurement of new business in line with agreed business plans
- Prepare credit/investment committee applications, internal reports and marketing material
- Manage the documentation and due diligence process for transactions
Requirements
- Ideally knowledge of the Infrastructure or Energy sector, with a project finance angle
- Knowledge of the regulatory and compliance requirements affecting the Commercial Banking division
- Ability to build relationships with clients in order to procure new business in line with agreed business plans
- Familiarity and ability to deal with complex financial models (strong Excel skills are required)
- Report and presentation writing skills with strong written and verbal communication skills
