Who you'll work with
You will work as a part of the global McKinsey & Co MT team. There is flexibility in the location of this role (although ideally located within a major metropolitan area), with MT hiring for SVPs in multiple offices globally.
McKinsey Transformation is a unit of McKinsey & Co., founded in 2010, that focuses exclusively on holistic transformations. We help clients drive rapid transformation and dramatic performance improvement across their business within a region or globally. To do so, we pair with the experienced professionals who are drawn from industry usually as a GM or C-suite, private equity as an Operational Partner or Portfolio CEO, or experienced Professional Services Strategy & Operations consultants with our Firm’s global network of industry and functional expeMT.
We are doers, and we work closely with clients to execute the steps needed to achieve extraordinary impact. With ~150 dedicated MT consultants and ~250 generalist consultants among our global affiliates, we serve clients in more than 50 countries, many of which are among the largest impact situations for the Firm globally.
What you'll do
In this role you will serve clients in a “Chief Transformation Officer” role, helping them achieve large- scale Transformations. Our MT engagements often include a Chief Transformation Officer (CTO) or a CTO Coach. This role focuses on motivating the client to achieve lasting impact, the CTO/CTO Coach operates as a formal or informal part of the client’s management team.
In this CTO/CTO Coach role, you will be the change leader, responsible for spurring a radical re-think of the operating model and conventional wisdom. You will operate as an extension of the CEO, occasionally with the positional authority and mandate to influence decisions across personnel, investments and operations.
You will not replace line leaders, but rather you will provide “leverage,” so that the Transformation initiatives and day-to-day business activities run at full speed in parallel.
Throughout this work, you will have the support of a traditional MT engagement team, plus access to the Firm’s results-oriented and proprietary MT “recipe,” which is backed by tools, benchmarks, and methodologies.
