Perishables Coordinator
MEDLOG is a global logistics and supply chain operator specialising in container transport, intermodal logistics, warehousing and freight services.
We are seeking an experienced logistics or warehouse professional to join our perishables operation in Altona North. This is a hands-on coordination role combining operational warehouse work with office-based administration.
About the role
Reporting to the Perishables Manager, the Perishables Coordinator will support the day-to-day coordination of perishables import and export activities.
The role is approximately 50% operational and 50% office-based, working closely with warehouse, transport and customer service teams to ensure freight is handled safely, accurately and on schedule.
This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week. Flexibility is required to work variable shifts and occasional weekends based on operational requirements.
Key responsibilities
Coordinate daily perishables import and export activities
Support the receipt, handling, storage and dispatch of freight
Perform operational warehouse and forklift duties when required
Liaise with warehouse, transport, customers and internal teams
Monitor freight movements and assist with resolving operational issues
Maintain accurate paperwork, records and system updates
Communicate operational priorities and provide clear shift handovers
Ensure work is completed in line with site, safety and compliance requirements
Help maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Experience in logistics, warehousing, freight forwarding or a similar operational environment
Strong organisational and coordination skills
Confidence working across both warehouse and office-based duties
A current forklift licence and practical forklift operating experience
A current driver licence
Good written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills
Confidence using computer systems and operational documentation
The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Full Australian working rights
Flexibility to work variable shifts and occasional weekends
Experience working with perishables, refrigerated freight, imports or exports will be highly regarded.
