Azure Networking is building the world’s best public/private backbone network and SDN platform. We are passionate about automating every facet of the network to converge on a self-growing, self-healing network. Our goal is to provide the scale, performance, high availability, and enterprise-grade security to meet the most extreme workloads and deliver consistent, low-latency experience across on-premises, multi-cloud, and edge location seamlessly. Our offering ranges from being eyes and ears of Azure Network in Networking Monitoring, Software Define Network provides connectivity between various workloads/resources/services with sophisticated software layover on top of physical Networks. Hybrid Networks comprising of Application and Content delivery Network, Express Route, VPN and DNS catering to various connectivity scenarios. All of this runs on top of a network that spans across the globe with 175K miles of terrestrial and sub-sea fiber with presence at over 190 PoPs providing secure and reliable connectivity to our customers.
The Hyperscale Network team responsible for the design, build, deployment, and operations for the Microsoft Global Network. The global network consists of leased/owned Optical fiber connecting our Data Centers to Regional Network Gateways (metro), Regional Network Gateways (RNGs) to RNGs (long haul terrestrial and subsea), RNGs to Edge PoPs (metro) and Edge PoPs to ISPs (peering), Enterprises (ExpressRoute), and Internet Exchanges (peering. The Hyperscale Network team supports all Microsoft product/service teams (Azure, Office 365, Teams, Dynamics 365, Xbox, Bing etc.) and 3rd party Azure customers.
Responsibilities
- - Product architecture and integrated solutions for technical needs across areas such as scale, build out, capacity, performance, etc.
- - Deep technical understanding of complexities of systems underpinning our services and orchestrates across many engineers to deliver solutions.
- - Drives large-scale initiatives typically involving multiple internal teams or external partners
- - Continuous improvements through changes in product design and various initiatives/programs that improve quality, profitability, supportability, and delivery
- - Technical advisor with internal or external customers, educating and evangelizing across sales cycle, participating in business deals/ strategic partnership
Qualifications
- Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Engineering. (Advanced technical degree or MBA a plus)
- 4+ years of professional technical product management and/or software development experience (cloud or networking-related experience is a plus)
- 5+ years of Network Infrastructure experience.
- Network fundamentals, Routing, Switching, WAN, Routing Protocol (BGP, ISISI etc) will be an added advantage.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, combined with a strategic orientation.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, particularly in working with remote teams.
- Strong aptitude for data driven decision-making.
- Strong focus on delivering end to end customer value.
- Demonstrated leadership and exceptional cross-team skills.
