As the Payroll Consultant, you will be responsible for executing outcomes and driving results while performing their role with minimal supervision. This is a leadership role including direction of other team members in tasks and projects with ownership of objective setting and overall performance management. You will assume a lead role in the group in the absence of senior level managers, responding to any emergency situations that may arise in relation to the payment and confidentially of employees.
Key responsibilities –
- Processing related data and resolving disputes for employee salary payments as per their designated queue responsibility;
- Accepting/auditing master data updates in the HRCentral which workflow to SAP Payroll system;
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of Australian legislation in relation to withholding taxation, payroll tax, superannuation and leave entitlements, as well as understanding of all EPA’s for all employing entitles;
- Process accurate updates to the HRIS systems for employee changes such as new hires, contract changes and terminations;
- Lead group workshops within the team to gather business requirements of new developments, to present these findings to various projects as they arise;
- Resolve an employee salary dispute at a single point of contact, being able to analyse and implement corrective action;
- Support Rewards Analysts with complex payment and entitlement disputes, demonstrate ability to analyse, resolve and implement corrective actions;
- Manage a functional group within the team, and providing back-up support in periods of emergency absences; &
- Provide support with project challenges as they arise, such as changes to benefits or systems including year-end legal package changes for SAP.
About you…
- Minimum 5 years’ Australian Payroll experience;
- High volume in-house systems use with strong numerical skills, reconciliation & problem-solving ability;
- Positive customer service skills, ability to own issues and drive resolution of query;
- Systems - SAP Payroll Skills, Preceda, Advanced MS Office, with Business Management & Payroll qualifications advantageous;
- Current People Management skills & high-end stakeholder management experience;
- Be versatile in adapting to change and show aptitude for employing contingency measures to meet deadlines;
- Strong written and verbal, ability to explain situations across different audience levels;
- Risk management & dispute resolution skills and the ability to always provide constructive feedback;
- Ability to work with offshore partners and communicate across all levels of business; &
- High level interpersonal skills and passion for putting the customer at the heart of everything you do.
