THE ROLE

This position is responsible for the strategic delivery of subsurface geological and engineering data to subsurface teams by using databases, software applications, physical assets and record management. The purpose of the Subsurface Data management team is to reduce exploration, development and corporate risk by providing high quality data sets to asset teams, joint venture groups and designated regulatory authorities. You will enable subsurface specialists to spend more time adding value in their function and to the greater organisation.

Your responsibilities will include;

• Design and implementation of subsurface data governance
• Coordinating the management and data flow of databases and modelling applications such as dbMap, Petrel Studio, Petrel, Geolog, Petrosys, and Master database
• Working with asset and information teams to ensure data organised into high value datasets, monitored for quality, available and deliverable for analysis and modelling and submitted in the appropriate format to the designated regulatory authority in the time frames set out in legislation
• Managing archives to make data accessible and reduce ongoing storage costs.
• Mentor, coach and support the data management team and provide training and insight into key subsurface applications as necessary within the subsurface group.

IS THIS YOU?

You’ll need to be continuous improvement driven, resilient, and a fast learner. You will have the with an ability to deliver, strong negotiation skills and a proven track record of leadership within the subsurface data space.

To be considered you will have;

• 10+ years industry experience
• Strong leadership skills
• Experience with Geophysical data
• Knowledge of DAMA practices
• Able to build and maintain key networks and relationships.
• Previous experience in a similar role or proven ability to move easily between different roles
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment with rigid timelines and deliverables.
• Customer and deadline focused
• Good knowledge of Geoscience industry software such as Petrel, Petrel Studio, Petrosys, dbMap and Geolog

Desirable experience includes:

• Experience with data analytics
• Formal data governance training
• Knowledge of PPDM and OSDU.
• Experience with Australian regulatory reporting.
• Power BI, Tableau and Spotfire.
