Overview

This role will lead the execution of quality and food safety plans and programs for sustaining and improving quality of all beverages, snacks, and food manufacturing operations within the CU. It also includes leading periodic quality audits and supporting new plant start-up and capability development agenda for the sites. This role has full decision making authority on ensuring PEP quality systems and processes and products are consistently met and complied with. It interfaces with several stakeholders (Plants, Region and Sector) within the business to drive, verify, and ensure compliance to this measure.


Responsibilities

  • Build quality and food safety system management, ensuring quality and food safety standards and specifications are maintained and compliance to Q&FS KPIs and programs are monitored and tracked.
  • Provide insights and advice to ensure that quality and food safety standards, systems, risk mitigation strategies, and protocols are deployed and effective across the supply chain.
  • Lead investigation and deep dive review of any Q&FS outages and develop corrective and preventive actions to address the issue and ensure that actions are being implemented against agreed timelines.
  • Conduct/ensure QAS/QHSA audits are appropriately administered across the CU in the manufacturing sites and ensure corrective actions are taken in a timely manner.
  • Support sustainable capability building on site to ensure continuous improvement by providing training and understanding of all pertinent PEP quality tools to support and drive compliance to PEP quality systems.
  • Effectively engage with cross-functional teams to deliver the requirements.
  • Assist new manufacturing sites/co-mans in establishing the appropriate quality systems and processes, identifying people capability needs and identify resources for meeting needs in relation to quality and food safety and ensuring adequate quality and food safety support for new manufacturing sites.
  • Collaborate with Region/Sector quality Leads and Quality Assurance to develop quality systems and update as required.
  • Ensure review process to monitor quality system implementation performance.
  • Work closely with Beverage SC/Q&FS leads to sustain PEP quality systems.
  • Demonstrate and exercise a commitment to promote, develop and improve the health, safety and welfare of our people.
  • Undertake all duties in accordance with company environmental policies and procedures, and support continual improvement in environmental systems and performance as outlined in annual plans.

Qualifications

  • Flexibility to travel is essential.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering, Food Technology, Food Science or related field.
  • At least 8 years’ quality assurance/quality control experience in food and beverage, preferably in a dairy/milk production, Beverage/Consumer Goods Manufacturing in Technical Services, R&D.
  • AIB, GMP, HACCP, allergen control and food safety knowledge would be preferred.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Individual needs to be independent, analytical, resourceful, able to articulate ideas well, enjoys problem solving and challenges with positive work attitude and approach.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • Ability to provide quality related training to partners independently.
  • Adaptable to a multi-cultural environment.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with teams.
