About us
The Queensland Fire Department (QFD) provides fire prevention, preparedness and response services to fire in the built and landscape environments, as well as scientific and specialist capabilities to Queensland communities. The QFD provides a multi-hazard emergency response, including road crash rescue, bushfire, hazardous material, technical and vertical rescue, severe weather incidents, remote and swiftwater rescue, and provides a number of functions supporting community safety outcomes.
The department encompasses Queensland Fire and Rescue (QFR), Rural Fire Service Queensland (RFSQ), as well as the broader department which work together to pre-empt, prevent, mitigate and manage the consequences of fires and other emergencies on Queensland communities and support our large volunteer membership across the state.

Purpose of the role
Fleet and Logistics leads the fleet delivery; fleet operations; fleet strategy; and uniforms and logistics and mechanical services and provides fit for purpose fleet and logistics to all members of QFD. Through the full lifecycle management and best practice approach to the fleet and logistics management, we ensure all assets and equipment are managed strategically and maintained to meet the complex environment in which they are deployed and utilised and meet operational and organisational objectives.
As the Project Support Officer, you will be a key member of the team working closely with project managers and key stakeholders to undertake specialist project activities and coordinated administrative services to support for the delivery of the RFSQ Heavy Vehicle Mass Weighing project initiatives. You will set priorities and monitor project workflows and phases, ensuring governance and procedures are followed, and provide secretariat and financial administration support to achieve project objectives and deliverables.

Special requirements
- The incumbent may be required to travel to support field work activities and personnel delivering the project, with the possibility of overnight stays.
Your key accountabilities
Your part in the ongoing success of our department, in supporting key frontline services will see you responsible for a variety of work, including, but not limited to:
- Participate in and undertake designated project and organisational change activities to support the successful delivery of the RFSQ Heavy Vehicle Mass Weighing project.
- Provide high-level administrative and project support, including maintaining document management systems, filing, and tracking of project records through SharePoint web management or other system Applications.
- Coordinate administrative activities, including, finance and procurement management, as required, and/or logistics management and travel coordination to assist in the end-to-end process for project deliverables.
- Assist with project tasks including monitoring, status updates, maintaining logs, planning and communications to resolve issues and deliver practical solutions.
- Provide secretariat support to committees, working groups, and forums by preparing agendas, recording and circulation of meeting minutes and follow-up on actions, decisions and outcomes.
- Liaise and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders in relation to project initiatives to ensure consideration of issues, and delivery of positive outcomes.
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of correspondence, briefings, submissions, and reports on matters relevant to business objectives, in accordance with departmental requirements and timeframes.
- Undertake research, analysis and provide advice in the development, review and continuous improvement of administrative systems and processes, project documentation and technical solutions.
