The Role and Your Responsibilities
The School is seeking a Senior Lecturer with expertise in contemporary fashion practice, including professional practice and research. The Lecturer will be responsible for carrying out teaching activities within undergraduate and postgraduate programs and for maintaining and advancing their research and/or professional capabilities relevant to the discipline.
The position requires demonstrated ability to teach into the studio design courses and potentially theoretical courses at an Honours or Masters level. The preferred candidate will have solid teaching experience and ability to embed their research and professional practice expertise in generating relevant and exciting approaches to fashion design pedagogies. The lecturer should show a desire to contribute to teaching and research culture of the program as well engagement with industry.
The Senior Lecturer, Fashion Design is responsible for carrying out teaching activities within undergraduate, Masters and Graduate Diploma programs and for maintaining and advancing their scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities. You will also be expected to actively promote the program by establishing and maintaining memberships, links and partnerships with academic, industry and professional communities. You may also be responsible for course coordination.
Skills & Experience Required
To be considered for this opportunity you will have a PhD or equivalent in a relevant field and have demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver programs at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, including online delivery, and the ability to produce high quality curriculum or program materials.
You will have demonstrated ability in supervising higher degree by research candidates and will have the skills to work effectively with and to negotiate sensitively with students especially on issues related to effective learning.
