An exciting opportunity has become available for a Team Manager Revenue Collection to join the Customer Experience within Sydney Water.
As Team Manager Revenue Collection, you will establish Sydney Water as an industry leader in debt recovery outcomes by setting and implementing a debt recovery strategy, managing related contracts and a supporting team of office and field-based staff to minimise debt.
This position is responsible for effective debt recovery process design, compliance with agreed debt recovery processes, compliance with relevant portions of Sydney Water’s Quality Management System and manage outsourced contracts to enable the collection of outstanding debt.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership with management accountability of to 15 direct reports and up to 6 indirect reports
- Develop strategies to address current and emerging customer debt recovery segments
- Develop policies, processes and procedures to support the debt recovery strategies
- Provide leadership on managing contracts that undertake debt recovery services to ensure performance is maximised and contract deliverables are achieved
- Work as part of the Leadership team to develop the business and ensure team delivers best practice.
- Monitor expenditure, approved budget and prepare business cases as required.
- Prepare and update contract management plans for each contract
- Respond to contract-related issues in a timely and commercially sound manner
- Ensure contract payments comply with contract conditions, policies, procedures and approved budgets
- Assist in the preparation of long-term forecasts for financial and business planning
- This role is responsible for a total budget of around $2 million annually which includes external contractor costs.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience deemed equivalent.
- NSW Driver’s license
- Experience in developing and implementing debt recovery strategies, business plans and financial business cases.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a team and contractors for debt recovery activities.
- Experience in business analysis, preparing written reports and procedures.
- Proven interpersonal and negotiation skills and conflict resolution skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of SAP CRM and ISU modules and BDEx application.
- A knowledge of Corporate delegations, procurement procedures, risk assessment procedures, customer and other relevant policies, statutory requirements and a proven flexibility in interpreting the intent of the same.
- Advanced spreadsheet skills to analyse data for performance assessment and reporting.
