As our India Hub Manager reporting to the General Manager - India, you will work collaboratively to develop and deliver high-quality solutions and results. The purpose of the role is to support Thiess mining operations globally by managing the set-up, oversight, monitoring and lead of the support functions being developed for delivery as part of the newly expanded Thiess India Hub.

Some of your duties will include;
- Ensure the successful set up of the India Hub support services and processes to ensure a successful foundation is built for meeting business objectives and strategic direction of Thiess mining operations – globally.
- Provide effective leadership to the Technical Services team in India, aligned to Thiess’ Principles and supporting the internal customers/stakeholders of the India Hub. Leverage off existing relationships to build a robust relationship network across the Thiess global business to support the India Hub’s objectives in understanding and supporting the needs of its internal Thiess customers.
- Provide a strong connection point between our existing support functions from across the business and the India Hub.
- Drive a culture consistent with our Vision and Mission statements and built around our Principals.
- Recruit, lead, coach and develop a national team of Technical Services specialists to meet the India Hub delivery requirements.
- Actively identify further areas of the business that could be efficiently supported from the India Hub as part of our growth strategy.
- Promote innovation and contribute to strategic business development.
- Regular international travel.
What skills and experience do you need?
- Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in mining operations/technical services disciplines with 3 years at Superintendent or Manager level.
- Bachelor of Mining Engineering, Geology or equivalent in related disciplines.
- Previous experience in setting up systems, processes and procedures for a greenfields project or hub.
- Thiess global best practice knowledge and experience.
- In depth knowledge of mine planning, geology, GIS, Drill & Blast, mining principals and other related mining support services.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Experience building teams and effective management of multiple projects and technical disciplines.
- Highly effective customer facing skills and proven ability to build and maintain relationships, both internally and externally.
- Previous experience working with cultures outside of home country.
