The role is responsible for leading the origination, structuring and execution of power purchase agreements (PPAs) and related offtake products across Tilt Renewables’ wind, BESS and hybrid portfolio, and for leading internal engagement with key stakeholders to inform and progress a high-value customer-led development pipeline.

The role combines hands‑on deal execution with strategic leadership, owning customer engagement, pricing and structuring strategy, and the commercialisation of development projects through to contract execution. The Manager PPA Origination works closely with Development, Finance, Legal, Operations and Corporate Strategy to ensure that offtake solutions are bankable, value‑accretive and aligned with Tilt Renewables’ long‑term portfolio strategy.

This role plays a critical part in maximising project revenues, managing commercial risk, and positioning Tilt Renewables as a partner of choice for utility, corporate and emerging-market customers.

Key Accountabilities (may include but are not limited to):

  • Origination leadership: Manage the process of originating and structuring power purchase agreements for our wind, BESS and hybrid projects across Australia.
  • Market Analysis and Customer Engagement: Lead and conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify potential customers, market trends, and pricing dynamics.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead contract negotiation processes with off-takers, ensuring that the terms and conditions align with project economics, risk management strategies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Financial Analysis: Coordinate financial analysis and modelling to evaluate the economic viability and profitability of potential PPAs.
  • Project Development insights: Play a key role in collaborating with the Development team to provide customer and market insights and strategic leadership to inform an efficient and customer-led project pipeline.
  • Corporate Development / M&A: Collaborate with the Corporate Development team to evaluate new project opportunities and assess their viability.
  • Government Support contracts: Play a key role in developing and executing Tilt’s strategy in relation to tender rounds for Government Support contracts such as the CISA and LTESA.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project development, operations, legal, finance, and marketing to ensure seamless integration of PPA origination activities across the organisation.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in PPA origination and structuring within the renewable energy sector, preferably with a focus on wind and BESS assets.
  • Strong knowledge of the Australian energy market, regulatory frameworks, and renewable energy policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex commercial agreements and manage relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Financial analysis and model interpretation skills, with a solid understanding of project economics and risk management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively present complex concepts and influence decision-making.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to identify market opportunities and develop innovative solutions.
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for financial analysis, contract management, and reporting.
