The City and Southwest Project Delivery team is managing planning and construction of the Sydney Metro rail network from Chatswood in Sydney’s North, under Sydney Harbour, into the CBD and all the way through to Bankstown in Sydney’s South. It’s a program of epic proportions which will bring together technical specialists, world-class technology and innovative ways of working to provide Sydney with better, faster and more reliable journeys.
The opportunity
We have an opportunity for a highly motivated Reliability Availability Maintainability (RAM) Manager to work within the Engineering & Assurance branch of our projects team. Reporting directly into the Associate Director Assurance, Projects, the RAM Manager will work collaboratively with technical and assurance engineers to ensure application of RAM principles throughout development and delivery. The role will call on relevant project development, delivery and technical experience, with a demonstrated ability to undertake detailed RAM analysis and embed RAM principles throughout the lifecycle of complex metro projects. You will work closely with various parties as the project progresses, including integration with multiple disciplines and stakeholders to help inform and optimize the technical solution.
What you will be involved in
We know the work we do is vital in assisting Sydney’s economic development and it’s the technical expertise and the depth of knowledge of our people that really sets us apart. Here are some of the things you will be involved in:
- Support and promote on-site safety, leading by example and demonstrating alertness against potential safety hazards
- Lead the development of the RAM Management Plan and administer the RAM targets for the system upgrade
- Manage railway simulation and modelling including; specifying, reviewing and accepting analytical outputs provided by identified third parties
- Be the technical support on RAM advice to the system integrator
- Manage system assurance in accordance with EN 50126, EN 50128 and EN 50129.
- Lead all types of systems assurance works
- Create RAM/modelling documentation
- Contribute to the improvement of RAMS and V&V standard processes, with focus on effectiveness and cost reduction. Ensure the application of RAMS standard processes and share project lessons learned with the team
About you
To be successful in these roles you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
- Broad Railway knowledge including railway signalling systems
- Experience in developing RAM plans, analysis, and reports
- Excellent communication
- Experience with modern signalling systems desirable CBTC/ETCS, track or tunnel infrastructure system

Salary and Benefits
