Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions.
We are responsible for strategy, planning, policy, regulation, funding allocation and other non-service delivery functions for all modes of transport in NSW including road, rail, ferry, light rail, point to point, regional air, cycling and walking.
We focus on improving the customer experience and contract public and private operators to deliver customer-focused transport services on our behalf.
We also lead the procurement of transport infrastructure and oversee delivery through project delivery offices and industry delivery partners.

About the Team
The Safety, Environment and Regulation (SER) division upholds safety and sustainability in our transport system. We’re working to deliver globally-recognised, safe, sustainable transport for our people, customers and the community.
As part of the SER division the newly created Security Crisis and Emergency Management branch provides expertise in security, crisis and emergency management across Transport for NSW. It is focussed on building a capability for Transport to prepare for, respond to and recover from significant emergency and crisis events.
The opportunity
Right now, we have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Crisis and Emergency professional (Fixed term full-time to November 2021) to join this newly created team utilising your skills to develop, train and deliver an incident management framework for crisis and incident response actions across the Transport Leadership Group and various Divisional crisis teams.
The role provides specialist advice and guidance in preparation for crisis and incident management strategies, plans and procedures to ensure preparedness and response to incidents is aligned with corporate and regulatory requirements

About you
We are looking for a crisis management professional who is an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills who has experience working for an organisation with a large and complex matrix environment.
You will have superior interpersonal skills, including facilitation, negotiation and consultation skills to work with a variety of stakeholders and influence key senior stakeholders.
Your understanding, knowledge of and experience in the application of crisis and incident management principles, practices and methods of implementation are essential, to enable you to support the executive leadership team when it activates in a crisis or to an incident, which could include the provision of secretariat functions and/or setting up of and supporting the taskforce team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a greenfield site utilising your emergency and crisis management experience which you have gained from your involvement with business continuity programs and incident management eg Covid, Cyber, fire and flood.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Transport Grade 8 ($118,015 - $132,176) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
