Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions.
We are responsible for strategy, planning, policy, regulation, funding allocation and other non-service delivery functions for all modes of transport in NSW including road, rail, ferry, light rail, point to point, regional air, cycling and walking.
We focus on improving the customer experience and contract public and private operators to deliver customer-focused transport services on our behalf.
We also lead the procurement of transport infrastructure and oversee delivery through project delivery offices and industry delivery partners.

About the Division
The Safety, Environment and Regulation division (SER) promotes safety and sustainability of the transport system. We undertake research, educate communities, develop policies and enforce regulations to constantly improve safety and environmental outcomes. SER provides ‘centres of excellence’ with a critical mass of expertise to support line accountability, facilitate consistency and provide assurance across the cluster, delivering a range of regulatory programs. The Regulatory Operations branch of SER is focused on ensuring safer people, safer vehicles, safer speeds and safer roads to protect Transport’s customers and NSW Communities.
The opportunity
Excellent opportunity for an experienced Reporting Officer to support the Branch in the analysis, monitoring and reporting of performance.
The role supports the completion of the Branch Business Plan, including tracking delivery against plan targets and the provision of reports and analysis to the key stakeholders.
You will:
- Provide specialist support and analysis regarding program, project, business plan and financial reporting.
- Work across the Branch to build capability, consistency, and quality of reporting.
- Implement consistent standard of practice and produce accurate, high-quality data and reporting, to track performance and identify and flag potential and current trends, risks, and issues.
- Implement methodologies, systems, processes, and reporting frameworks to review and evaluate Branch performance.

About you
You demonstrate experience in performance and project/program reporting with the ability to generate insightful reports (including financial, business performance, dashboards). Confident in your ability to critically assess and examine information, you present information logically and coherently to various audiences.
You drive improved performance in reporting in an environment where there are frequent changes to organisational priorities and timeframes.
You put people at the centre of every decision you make, and draw satisfaction from the knowledge that you’re making a real difference working on services that connect people and communities in NSW.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Grade 5 ($83,402 - $91,744) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
