The Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) (ODVCA) provides high level support to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) in relation to all aspects of the services and initiatives that support and develop students at the University. The ODVCA manages day-to-day business and special projects in the ODVCA, and provides advice on a range of complex policy, compliance, and governance related issues to the DVCA.
With intellectual contribution you will provide well informed strategic and policy advice, lead with clear direction and ensure fast turnaround of multiple projects and priorities. This will include:
- Interfacing with both internal and external high-level stakeholders and committees;
- Preparing and drafting papers, briefings and government submissions;
- Prioritising future directions and strategic resource and leadership responsibilities; and
- Making discretionary independent decisions as required.
The role is a key source of operational knowledge and contributes to the development and implementation of the University’s positioning and stakeholder strategy across internal and external spheres of engagement.

Your demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure, with proven experience providing evidence-based advice to senior executives in a multi-dimensional and complex organisation will allow you to arrange priorities in the most productive way.

- Sensitivity in dealing with confidential operational, people and governance matters;
- The ability to maintain strong interpersonal relationships; and
- The capacity to exercise superior judgement
The role requires extensive knowledge of the higher education sector and future challenges, as well as an understanding of relevant legislative and compliance frameworks.

The remuneration for this position is from $128,332 per annum + 17% superannuation.

- Broad knowledge and understanding of the Australian and international higher education sector and external factors and issues relevant to it.
