The Role

As the Senior Finance Business Partner you will play a pivotal role in providing expertise and insight to deliver leading financial, planning and analysis across the Business Services portfolio and teams. Reporting into, and working closely with the GM Finance, Business Services you will help to bolster business acumen and build critical and commercial thinking into decision making across the portfolio.

What you'll do...

Partner with EGMs and GMs, enabling faster and better decision making and performance, consistent with the strategy of both the portfolio and Xero.

Support the GM Finance in driving leadership teams to make decisions through modeling, analysis, inquiry, challenge, generating options and providing advice on the financial implications and consequences of business decisions.

Generate insights including the “so-what”, to recommend and advise the business on how best to improve operations, optimize performance, and adapt to changing business conditions.

Lead the finance component of planning, reporting and forecasting for the portfolio, translating strategy into financial targets and tactical plans.

Supply and implement best practice management reporting and modeling, providing strategic insight on the content of reports and performance evaluation for key metrics.

Execute current year delivery including creation of the annual budget and periodic reporting.

Management of all aspects of workforce planning for the portfolio, ensuring FTEs and Open Role Planners are maintained and Adaptive inputs for forecasting / budgeting are accurate.

Support strategic, enterprise wide workforce planning and analysis, working closely with EGM Finance, Product & Technology to improve forecasting and modeling of FTEs to achieve forecast accuracy and inform effective and efficient release of capital for outcomes across all of Xero.

Support the provision of advice and recommendations that drive the implementation of business critical people and resourcing initiatives, including Xero’s overall remuneration strategy. Ensure quality analysis and advice that supports the achievement of Xero’s financial, strategic and growth targets etc.

Contribute to the development and implementation of Xero’s capital allocation framework, reviewing capital expenditure and evaluating investments for the portfolio.

Assist with building commercial skills across the business, including risk / reward decision making and value management.

Be a proficient user of our planning and reporting systems, not only owning the inputs, but ensuring these are entered in a timely manner as required by reporting and forecasting timelines

What you'll bring with you...

You will be intellectually curious, be comfortable navigating ambiguity and thrive in being a frontier.

Strong commercial acumen, able to synthesize and distill information to shine a light on the activity, decisions and outcomes that really matter.

Stakeholder centric, providing insights and adding value to the business, along with highly effective communication, presentation and influencing skills.

Business planning, budgeting and forecasting abilities are fundamental6+ years of progressive financial experience within a commercial finance / FP&A team.

Qualified accountant (CA, CPA etc.)Experience within a Consulting or Accounting firm and / or a SaaS company is highly desirable.

Experience with financial systems such as NetSuite, Adaptive, business intelligence tools and corporate performance management software.
