Purpose:
This role is part of Digital Channels Asset Health and Delivery which is a key specialist team within the Telstra Digital Channels. The team’s purpose is to drive resilience and health of Telstra’s core consumer web and app assets, ensure the technical applications and platforms are well managed, and make sure that delivery standards are created and met as we build, rationalise and integrate our digital assets over time. Customers are engaging with and relying on our digital channels more and more so it is vital that we ensure our strategic digital assets including telstra.com, My Account, Telstra 24x7 app, and My Telstra operate well and are available always.
About the role:
The specific purpose of the Senior Business Specialist – Digital Platforms role is to actively manage from a business point of view the portfolio of applications and platforms that support the strategic digital assets, and ensure that we have clear plan and roadmap to ensure their ongoing health including upgrade, capacity management, and ultimately decommissioning.
The role will work in close partnership across the digital business and our IT and Operations partners to ensure we can create, monitor and build resilient assets. The successful candidate will have an outstanding customer focus, a strong understanding of IT, good commercial judgment and problem solving skills and be able to translate technology to business requirements and vice versa.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the leading Telstra Digital Channel subject matter expert in the area of digital platforms and provide coaching as appropriate
- From a business perspective, manage the portfolio of applications and platforms that support the strategic digital assets to ensure we have a clear plan and roadmap to ensure their ongoing health including upgrade, capacity management and ultimately decommissioning.
- Work closely with our delivery and IT teams to actively and prudently manage investment to maintain the appropriate balance of commercial, customer experience and risk considerations.
Qualifications:
- Education: tertiary qualifications in IT, Business or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years digital experience in a mix of business and technical roles (or with significant exposure to IT development, operations and release management)
- Proven experience in operating scale digital assets in large organisations, including specialist aspects eg continuous improvement, monitoring and optimisation strategies, change and release management, fraud, privacy and security
- Familiarity with current web and app development and tool technologies and practices
- Proven familiarity with and experience in best practice Agile and or DevOps ways or working
- Demonstrated understanding and experience in using a data driven and continuous improvement methodologies to inform decisions
High desirable
- Broad IT, business analysis, testing and or incident management experience
- ITIL Foundation Certificate or higher,
- Experience as a Product Owner or Scrum Master in Agile teams and/or Agile certification
- Familiarity with key tools including ITAM, JIRA
- Deep knowledge of complex technology architectures and experience of operating in parallel across a strategic and legacy technology environment
