The role
An opportunity has arisen for a mid-to-senior Senior Associate to join Clayton Utz's rapidly expanding technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) transactions practice. This is a full-time role based in the firm's Sydney office. You will directly support Ken Saurajen, a market-leading technology partner with a formidable reputation, built over 20 years, for the design and successful execution of some of Australia’s and the Asia Pacific region’s most difficult and unorthodox software, technology, commercial IP and telecommunications transactions. You will also work with Walid Sukari, a partner with a fast-growing reputation in complex information technology, media, and telecommunications projects.
We are a driven, dynamic team with a rich and diverse practice across both private and public sectors and a shared vision of shaping Australia’s future business, industry and consumer landscape through our approach to transformative IT projects and revolutionary thinking.
Cultural alignment is key. The optimal candidate for this role will be an energetic self-starter who shares our team vision and will thrive in an egalitarian meritocracy. That person will also possess:
- creativity, imagination and the capacity for unconventional problem-solving;
- exceptional technical skills derived from first-tier experience;
- superior written and verbal expression skills and an aptitude for reshaping and expressing complex concepts in a concise way; and
- a naturally collegiate mindset which prioritises respect for peers.
Skills & Experience
The nature of the tasks to be performed in this role will suit a candidate with at least 7-10 years post-qualification experience, a transactional background, a willingness to nurture the development of more junior lawyers and exposure to procurement in the financial services sector.
