ABOUT THE ROLE AND THE DEPARTMENT:
An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, experienced and highly motivated Health Information Manager to provide guidance and leadership in the collection, use, evaluation and management of health information within the area of Mental Health Services. The role is to act as a key resource and contact person in relation to the management of Medical Records, process development, and adherence of the standards for the management of information relating to Mental Health.

Based across both Werribee Mercy Hospital and Mercy Mental Health Clinic-Wyndham. Will require visits to other Mental Health facilities on occasion.

Play an integral role in the production, implementation and review of mental health documentation.

Ensure that data collection, management and reporting complies with the Health Service Agreement and organisational needs

Consistently maintain coding throughput and accuracy

Oversee collection of client activity to ensure accuracy

Work collaboratively with Mercy Health staff to achieve the requirements of the National Health Standards and Mental Health Act.
ABOUT YOU:

Understanding of the Mental Health Act
-
Experience in a Mental Health setting
-
Enthusiastic, motivated, and proactive
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills
-
Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage deadlines
-
Bachelor of Health Information Management or equivalent

Eligible for membership of HIMAA

Mercy Mental Health supports people in south west metropolitan Melbourne with severe and complex mental illnesses by providing acute and community-based care. Services are available to adults through acute inpatient programs, residential rehabilitation programs and crisis and community recovery-focused treatment programs. We also offer inpatient and community specialist perinatal mental health services to women and infants in western Victoria.
