Purpose of the Role
The role is mainly responsible for the financial, regulatory and statutory reporting for AMP’s superannuation funds and the statutory reporting for a managed scheme.
The successful candidate will work with multiple data owners and be able to manage and prioritise deliverables to ensure successful reporting cycles. The role will also work closely with the offshore team to complete core team reporting deliverables.
Your main responsible will include but not limited to:
- Ensuring that financial and regulatory reporting is facilitated accurately and within strict deadlines including integrity of the data in the general ledger
- Replying to queries from regulatory bodies (e.g. APRA, Productivity Commission, ASIC)
- Interpret APRA reporting instructions and translate these into finance requirements
- Preparation of results pack for presentation to the Board
- Preparing of financial statements and facilitating audit for superannuation funds and managed schemes
- Monitoring of the Operational Risk Financial Requirement reserves and facilitating funding of the reserves
What we look for in you
- Degree Qualified – Major in Accounting - Part / Full Qualified CA / CPA (or equivalent)
- Ideally at least 5 years’ experience in the financial accounting, statutory and regulatory reporting, ideally in superannuation funds.
- Strong technical accounting skills
- Strong superannuation fund regulatory reporting knowledge
- Good stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Good verbal and written communications skills with an ability to present technical concepts
- Excellent analysis and problem solving
- Priority and time management skills
- Good skills in Excel and Word. A working knowledge of Peoplesoft and Business Objects would be advantageous
