About the team
This team provide in-service train fault management and incident response for Sydney Trains and NSW Trains fleet operating across the network to ensure the effective and timely resolution of mechanical, electrical, structural and technological problems that have the potential to cause train failures and impact on network performance.
The opportunity
We have two exciting opportunities for Train Technicians to be a part of our Fleet Maintenance Division within Sydney Trains. This position plays a key role in providing on boarding-service train fault management & incident response for Sydney Trains & NSW Trains fleet operating across the network to ensure the effective and timely resoltion of mechanical, electrical, structural & technological problems that have the potenial to cause train failures and impact on network performance.
Reporting to the Train Technician Team Leader, you will investigate, diagnose and repair/mitigate in-service problems and defects to electrical, mechanical, structural and technological systems, equipment and components and ensure the fault response on board service problems and defects are performed in accordance with relevant safety guidelines; meets minimum train operating standards; mitigates the potential for train failures, and minimises the impact to network performance.
About you
We are looking for experienced Technicians who have trade qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Fitter trade with demonstrated maintenance experience in repairs to mechanical and electrical equipment and components, preferably in an operational rolling stock environment. A successful applicant will be safety conscious & have proven experience working on their own.
Salary & Benefits
The salary for this position is Grade Rail Technician Level 2 ($1,636.15 p.w), plus super, shift allowances and annual leave loading.
