Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions.
We are responsible for strategy, planning, policy, regulation, funding allocation and other non-service delivery functions for all modes of transport in NSW including road, rail, ferry, light rail, point to point, regional air, cycling and walking.
We focus on improving the customer experience and contract public and private operators to deliver customer-focused transport services on our behalf.
We also lead the procurement of transport infrastructure and oversee delivery through project delivery offices and industry delivery partners.

The Opportunity:
Right now, we have an opportunity for a Security Analyst to join Information & Security, Corporate Services team, where you will help maintain the day-to-day operational effectiveness of multiple systems, security and access group to organisational IT infrastructure.
The role is responsible for implementing and maintaining operational security and risk process across Sydney Metro’s Information & Technology service delivery function, and will contribute to and maintain the development of the organisation’s service delivery methodologies, processes and service delivery risks and compliance obligations.
You will be involved in:
- Undertake security audit activities over multiple environments, in accordance with internal and external audit schedules, action audit findings and manage Corrective Actions Register (CAR).
- Design access controls and apply security controls to basic system(s) security groups to ensure appropriate security and integrity of applications.
- Participate in security related projects to ensure that design, testing and implementation comply with Sydney Metro and Transport’s IT Security standards, policies and industry best practice, at the point of inception.
About you: Ideally this role will suit someone looking to take the next step in their career. A tertiary qualified Security Administrator, looking to expand on either their Information, Communications Technology, and/or Cyber Security experience and build their expertise in this area. Someone proactive, who takes responsibility for delivering on intended outcomes with the highest level of quality customer-focused service.
Essential requirements:
- Tertiary qualification and or industry experience in Information, Communications Technology, or Cyber Security
- One or more industry certifications (i.e. CISSP, CEH, CISM, CRISK, ISO 27000)
- Experience in any of the following framework/s ISO 27000 (series), COBIT, NIST, ASD ISM, Essential 8, and AESCSF or similar.
