Principal Adviser – Business Development

About the role
We are looking for a self-motivated and organised Principal Adviser – Business Development to support our Australian business interests, based out of Perth.
This is a great opportunity to be part of a high performing team in providing commercial value-add in the area of corporate finance and business development for Rio Tinto
Reporting to the General Manager – Business Development you will:
- Lead and support commercial negotiations
- Develop/evaluate business cases for strategic initiatives, joint ventures and new business
- Deliver reports and presentations to a final standard to key internal and external stakeholders
- Provide commercial insight and financial modelling for investment decision making
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- Tertiary education
- Demonstrated experience in commercial space
- Business acumen
It will also be beneficial if you have:
- Minimum 7 years relevant experience (M&A, project management, mining)
- Negotiation experience
Where you will be working
The Business Development team is responsible for supporting strategic direction and implementing commercial arrangements for our businesses across the Australian and broader Asia-Pacific markets. This includes joint ventures, project development, divestments and broader new business opportunities.
