The opportunity
The development team in Western Sydney Project Office, Parramatta, have an opportunity for Project Development Officer to work on significant road projects in Western Sydney.
As a critical part of the development team, this role is responsible for supporting the development of major projects in Western Sydney through strategic, concept designs and environmental approvals, helping Transport for NSW deliver on our customers’ needs.
This position is a part of a dedicated development team within the Infrastructure and Place Division to deliver projects for our customers on behalf of our client, Western Sydney Project Office.
You will be responsible for supporting the early development of road and bridge infrastructure projects through to completion of the detailed concept design and environmental approval.
- Provide project support services to Project Development staff by contributing to the development, analysis, review and evaluation of options to ensure high quality, cost-effective and functional project outcomes.
- Assist with project scoping activities and draft project development briefs to support the delivery of high-quality project documentation and business cases.
- Assist Project Development staff with regular, timely and accurate quality reporting, programming and cost forecasting.
- Provide timely and accurate information to stakeholders regarding project development to contribute to project success.

About you
You will have relevant tertiary qualifications or extensive experience in planning, engineering, project management or a related discipline. With a proven project management background in developing large multi-disciplinary, complex infrastructure road and bridge projects, whilst managing and leading multidisciplinary teams.
Essential requirements
- Tertiary qualifications and extensive experience in planning, civil engineering, project management or related discipline.
- Demonstrated project support skills and experience, including understanding of project management principles and techniques.
- Experience drafting project plans, procedures and guidelines for the operation of a business function.
- Demonstrated skills in supporting the development of infrastructure projects.
- It is a prerequisite that applicants possess a current motor vehicle driver licence.
- The successful applicant may be required to work outside normal working hours or to travel on occasion.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Grade USS 7, 8 and 9 ($92,928,601 - $123,199) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
