Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions.
We are responsible for strategy, planning, policy, regulation, funding allocation and other non-service delivery functions for all modes of transport in NSW including road, rail, ferry, light rail, point to point, regional air, cycling and walking.
We focus on improving the customer experience and contract public and private operators to deliver customer-focused transport services on our behalf.
We also lead the procurement of transport infrastructure and oversee delivery through project delivery offices and industry delivery partners.

The Regional and Outer Metropolitan division is focused on understanding the particular needs of regional communities across NSW and delivering customer-centred integrated transport services and infrastructure.
The opportunity
Right now, we have a permanent full-time opportunity for a licensed MR Gang Truck Driver to be a part of our Regional Maintenance team based in Gundagai, NSW.
- Competently operate Light and Medium Rigid vehicles (with a GVM of greater than 4.5 tonnes)
- To tow any trailers that their vehicle is rated to tow
- To operate a HIAB or similar truck mounted crane

About you
We are looking for an Truck Driver who has the capability to work under limited supervision and has experience in maintaining a safe and injury free work place for all employees while operating in a high speed, high traffic volume environment.
You have sound experience operating HIAB or similar truck mounted cranes and experience undertaking physical labouring duties. You’ll also hold:
- White Card
- MR Driver License
- Traffic control certifications (or willingness to obtain prior to starting)
You take pride in your ability to effectively communicate with other workers and members of public and dedication to maintaining a safe work environment for yourself and others.
You’re prepared to work outside regular working hours, attend after hour call-outs, and prepared to travel extensively throughout the state and work at locations away from the base station including camping away from home when needed.
Whilst not required, experience in operating plant (loader, bobcat, padfoot smooth drum) is advantageous but not essential.
Wage and Benefits
The wage for this position is $ 1284.82 per week plus superannuation and allowances.
