We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Reliability Engineerto join our Asset Management & Engineering Services (AMES) team at our Greater Brockman Operations.Working on a FIFO 5/2; 4/3 roster, you will champion defect elimination and reliability engineering processes in order to improve asset reliability and integrity for the fixed plant processing equipment.
Reporting to the Senior Engineer, you will:
- Lead and support investigations into asset failures and performance, including root cause analysis (RCA)
- Analyse performance data to identify high value defect elimination opportunities and implement improvements in reliability, productivity and cost
- Recommend and implement tactics designed to support high levels of asset safety, reliability and integrity
- Provide technical engineering support to the site maintenance execution teams
- Monitor and analyse the performance of our assets and analyse primary/secondary maintenance tasks to improve asset reliability and cost
- Actively contribute to asset strategy by developing asset lifecycle plans and zero-based budgets for fixed plant equipment
What you’ll bring
You will have tertiary qualifications in engineering or a related discipline, coupled with previous maintenance or reliability experience ideally within a mining environment. An understand of fixed plant mining equipment including conveyors, crushers, screens etc will be beneficial and you will be committed to demonstrating and promoting a positive safety culture. You are someone who thrives on a challenge and is willing to be creative when solving technical problems.
With an ability to relate to a diverse range of stakeholders and operational teams, you will have experience effectively collaborating with others in order to drive successful outcomes. You will have previous experience leading and managing a diverse portfolio of improvement projects and an understanding of asset management and reliability-based principles and processes such as RCA, FMECA and tactics development will be beneficial. Experience with SAP and other maintenance and reliability software will be advantageous. A full ‘C’ class driver’s licence will be required.

This position is based at our Greater Brockman Operations working a FIFO 5/2; 5/3 roster.
Located 60km north-west of Tom Price, Brockman is wholly owned and operated by Rio Tinto. Opened in 2010, this open pit operation offers a family friendly fly in fly out roster with state-of-the-art camp facilities. The Greater Brockman Operations consist of Brockman 2, Brockman 4, Nammuldi and Silvergrass. Driving the latest technological advancements, the open-pit mines offer an avenue for opportunity and career progression.
