Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions.
We are responsible for strategy, planning, policy, regulation, funding allocation and other non-service delivery functions for all modes of transport in NSW including road, rail, ferry, light rail, point to point, regional air, cycling and walking.
We focus on improving the customer experience and contract public and private operators to deliver customer-focused transport services on our behalf.
We also lead the procurement of transport infrastructure and oversee delivery through project delivery offices and industry delivery partners.

The Division
The Greater Sydney Division integrates transport modes including trains, metro and buses; critical infrastructure and services to support Sydney’s growing metropolitan population and is projected to swell to over 12 million people within the next 40 years.
About the role
The primary purpose of the role is to provide specialist advice and services across stakeholder consultation, customer information issues management and digital strategies and other relevant support to assist in the delivery of the full range of communication and stakeholder engagement services within a designated place or project. This includes supporting the development and delivery of internal and external strategic engagement to ensure stakeholders and customers have access to consistent, accurate, relevant and timely information.You will be a part of a team which works together to redefine integrated transport choices to improve the lives of customers and communities, making Greater Sydney a better place to live, work and play.
These roles are champions of good customer service and communication across a variety of geographic locations (Eastern Harbour City, Central River City & Western Parkland City) and may require you to travel to sites depending on stakeholder consultation and project needs.
About you
Demonstrated experience in interpreting and implementing communications plan activities to time, cost and expectation, within a customer-focused environment. Expertise in writing comprehensive messaging with the ability to translate and tailor complex information to suit diverse stakeholder groups across diverse platforms is essential.
Experience in the management of stakeholder issues, leading minor projects and developing collateral such as notifications, ads and social media posts would be highly regarded. Proven data analysis, reporting skills and the ability to identify and mitigate risks is key to your success in this role. Ideally, you’ll have an understanding of government initiatives, the ability to respond quickly in a fast paced changing environment, along with developing highly effective collaborative relationships. You would be have experience in supporting highly sensitive projects/situations, issues management, communication and stakeholder engagement.

Transport Service Grade 7 ($103,965 - $116,441) plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
Essential requirements
Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. media, communications, and public relations) and/or equivalent industry experience.
