About the team
The role is embedded with the Sydney Metro West projects team but functionally sits within the Divisional Management Office, the central team managing governance across all of Sydney Metro’s delivery teams.
The opportunity
The Principal Manager, West is a key management position embedded within the Sydney Metro West project team, but functionally a part of the Divisional Management Office which manages governance across all of Sydney Metro. This role has critical relationship and issue management accountabilities, working closely with the Project Director to anticipate and address business issues and ensure effective communication is maintained for both internal and external stakeholders.
What you will be involved with
The Principal Manager, West position is an incredibly diverse role which will influence outcomes across the senior leadership team for Metro West projects, providing advice and ensuring a consistent approach to high performance across the Unit. This role will also advise on ministerial queries and develop appropriate and timely responses to governmental requests.
Key accountabilities include:
- Coordinate business planning processes for the Division, ensuring alignment with corporate strategies and initiatives, and drafting plans for approval by the Division to be translated into meaningful performance targets, as well as provide assurance and regular reporting for senior management.
- Develop, implement and review frameworks to support the identification of, and report on key risks, highlight interdependencies, report on progress and facilitate the successful management of issues to support performance of the Division
- Live the NSW Public Sector and organisational values to achieve outstanding outcomes for the organisation and customers

About you
You will be an exceptional stakeholder management, ideally with an understanding of government and responding to ministerial queries. You may have a background in legal, accountancy, or other professional functions that necessitate high level written and oral communications skills and a commitment to customer service and project delivery.
